I'M 45 and have listen to his music off and on since I was a young bambino, he's great. I play trumpet ounce in a while and love his style i play guitar mostly, my dad plays his trumpet all the time and also my mom and dad love his music my mother seen him play in Buffalo Ny. He inspires me greatly and I write lyrics and have had then produced in to cd's and listening to some of my songs I think I get some of the humor and rheortic from listing to Prima's great work. if Your making a movie one day I would love to try out for the part, I have the same similar Italian features. what a dream, dreaming the dream I'M in. Excellent site of the wildest performer ever. goog luck.

I recently had the pleasure of listening to a CD while in Vegas! Wow! The memories came back to me; growing up, listening to him on the hi-fi while my mom was cooking on Sunday's, the smell of Italian food.
Hearing him now, yes, yes! The banter, all found in Springsteen's band. Clearly, the most soulful of Italian-American singers, the blend of New Orleans heritage and music all makes sense today.
What a giant! When is the bio-pic coming out? Who should play him?

I have been a fan of Loius Prima and Keely Smith for years. (I guess I am aging myself) His vocal style, phrasing, expressions and movements were unique. He may be one of the least appreciated jazz singers of his time. As a drummer, I credit Louis and his band for introducing the "shuffle" beat to the music world. I still watch his performances on youtube and plan on buying his movie, "Hey Boy. Hey Girl".

I am 46 years old, and discovered Louis music about 8 years ago. It was as fresh to me as the day it was recorded. I cant understand how more people cant or wont look to the past for "new" music.
I also think each generation is certain they have the patent on fun. I think Louis showed us what fun really was.
Heres one for the road, king Louis.
